IIEA and Cerform reveal how to interpret new trends
“Introduction to trend research” is the latest innovative e-learning course proposed by IIEA, the e-learning school for industry sponsored by Acimac.
The course can be followed over the internet at any time of the day and offers essential tools for decoding trends in progress in society and for using them to design and market products that meet consumer needs. The course provides keys for understanding megatrends, macrotrends, seasonal trends and fads, for analysing the behaviour of different generations of consumers and for constructing effective moodboards.
Trend research has become a very important tool not just for creatives and product designers. Effective trend monitoring and analysis also helps entrepreneurs and managers to fine tune company vision and market positioning, gives designers ideas for developing new concepts, and helps people working in marketing and advertising to draw up communication strategies.
The course, led by trend hunting expert Valentina Durante, offers guidance on developing a rational trend analysis method that can be tailored to individual requirements but can also be shared with a team of co-workers with a view to saving time and optimising resources.
The course fully exploits the advantages of the internet as an alternative to normal classroom activities and as an opportunity to create highly effective and economically advantageous training programmes. Its practical methodology combines a range of tools (texts, images, video) in an interactive, multimedia approach that makes extensive use of case histories, simulations and practical lessons.
