India: Qutone Tiles chooses the GEA press
Qutone Tiles Pvt Ltd (Ahmedabad), founded in 2008 and today a high level ceramic tiles industry of the Indian region in Gujarat, has chosen the press GEA 44000 ton press without mold for the production of large ceramic panels in sizes 1600x4800mm and 1200x4800mm.
During the last years, the board of the Indian company that produces wall and floor tiles, has carefully studied the latest innovative pressing systems available in order to launch a new line of high quality products on the market. The confirmation of a choice towards System has been made official last September during a meeting that took place between the two parties during Tecnargilla 2014.
The sheets will be cut while still green, at the press exit, in various sizes, for example 1200x1200mm, 600x1200mm, 1200x2400mm, 800x800mm, 800x1600mm, 800x2400mm. The productive flexibility - in terms of thickness and size - is a characteristic that with the energy saving has made Qutone make its final decision.
The thickness range will vary from 6 to 12 mm. The total flatness of the mega sheets, thanks to the homogeneous compactness of the atomized powders, and the consequent limited caliber, will enable the company to furtherly reduce the finishing costs of squaring and polishing process. By the use of laser engraved belts, structure effects can be made up to 1,8 mm deep. The belts can be quickly replaced when needed (in about 30 minutes) enabling infinite possibilities of decoration.
