Italian ceramics in India
In late October the Italian ceramic industry is focusing on India, where two major events, the exhibition BuildArch - Building the future (Bangalore, 22 to 24 October) and the World Ceramic Tiles Manufacturers’ Forum (Mumbai 22 to 26 October), have captured the attention of both local and international players.
At BuildArch 2008, an international exhibition organised by Hannover Messe and devoted to building technologies and materials, including ceramic tiles, the Ceramic Tiles of Italy institutional stand will be showcasing the products of fourteen Italian ceramic manufacturers, Settecento Valtresinaro, Altaeco, Cedir, Refin, Novabell, Impronta Ceramiche, Ceramica Mediterranea, Ceramiche di Siena (Gambarelli), Rondine, Cir, Lord, Lea and Litokol.
The World Ceramic Tiles Manufacturers’ Forum, the second leg of the mission, will consist of theme forums addressing issues such as statistical analyses, studies of the state of national industries and the main markets, standardisation activities at an ISO level, activities to promote ceramic products, commercial activities, and a focus on environment, energy and raw materials. Meetings with local business people and visits to producer companies will provide an opportunity to gain a close-up view of the Indian ceramic industry. The initiative will be attended by representatives of the largest international ceramic tile manufacturers’ associations.
