LB to supply technology for the new Portobello USA facility

LB will supply spray-dried powder storage, press feeding and fired waste recovery systems as well as three dry body colouring lines.

For the new Portobello USA facility currently under construction in Baxter, Tennessee and scheduled to begin production by summer 2023, the Brazilian ceramic group has commissioned LB to supply key technology in two phases.

In the first phase, LB will supply a complete fired waste recovery (chamotte grinding) line, a complete spray-dried powder storage and press feeding line and three dry colouring lines equipped with the latest generation Easy Color Boost system.

This new project is tailored specifically to the US market, a region that is highly receptive to medium-large tile sizes (from 300x600 mm to 1200x1200 mm).

A longstanding LB customer, Portobello has once again trusted in the Italian supplier’s reliability and expertise in the field of dust management and its ability to provide support during all stages of the project, from initial study through to start-up. The presence of LB’s US subsidiary also played an important part in the decision as it is able to guarantee customer service directly on site.

LB fornirà gli impianti per lo stoccaggio atomizzato, l’alimentazione presse, il recupero degli scarti cotti, oltre a tre linee di colorazione a secco degli impasti
