More than 100 Sacmi CRS (Rapid Mould Changeover) systems now in operation worldwide
The ability to reduce mould changeover times on large presses to well under an hour, improved workplace safety and smaller overall dimensions are the characteristics underpinning the commercial success of the CRS (Rapid Mould Changeover) system from Sacmi, which since 2016 has been adopted as standard on all Sacmi high-tonnage presses (from the PH3800 to the PH10000, and including the brand new PH8200 smart).
Barely five years after it was launched, a total of 113 CRS solutions have now been sold worldwide, including 41 in Italy, 37 in Central and North America, 17 in the rest of Europe, 12 in the Middle East and 6 in Latin America. "These figures confirm that CRS is now a reliable and well-established solution that customers clearly appreciate," says Alessandro Cocquio, Sacmi Ceramics Technical Manager. "And once they’ve experienced all the practical benefits, they tend to reconfirm their choice and place new orders." These benefits derive from the system’s technical and design characteristics, including the innovative permanent magnet mould attachment method and a handling-aligning device that allows the mould to be mounted by a single worker without any need for additional tools.
"Perfect integration of Sacmi moulds with the press maximises the potential of the system," continues Alessandro Cocquio. "This explains why over three quarters of solutions sold with the CRS system are equipped with moulds produced by Sacmi Molds&Dies."
