New Colorveggia factory completed23/04/2003 - Colorveggia Reire (Casalgrande, province of Reggio Emilia, Italy) completed its new Coldry powdered glaze production factory at the end of February 2003. The new 25,000 sq.m plant is equipped with 38,000 litre discontinuous mills, storage tanks with a total capacity of 200 cubic metres, a spray dryer of capacity of more than 3500 kg/h and 36 silos (each 50 cubic metres) for the storage of products and auxiliary raw materials and for automatic glaze composition. The daily grinding/spray drying capacity is 80 tons (expandable to 160 tons), while the compound glaze production capacity is 300 tons/day. The plant is equipped with a system that allows for almost complete automation of all operations and supervision and control of all stages.

The system is designed to take account of possible developments in the sector and is equipped to allow for automatic production of glazes with variable moisture content and grain size. Special attention has been given to packaging and numerous solutions are available, from conventional bags and big bags of variable weight through to the possibility of transferring product in storage tanks and silo trucks. The plant is also equipped with stations for screen printing paste preparation, dry powder mixing and micronisation for screen printing applications.

Within the next two years, a second spray drying station will be installed and the grinding line suitably adapted. The company's optimisation plan includes creating a ceramic frit production department over the next three years.
