New Smart Moulds from Gape Due in operation at Tuscania factory
Gape Due, a company specialising in the design and construction of moulds for the ceramic industry, has begun 2018 with a major order for the Tuscania factory in Serramazzoni (Modena).
The agreement, signed in January, involves the introduction of 8 transfer type Smart Moulds in sizes 60x60 cm (3 cavities), 30x60 cm (6 cavities), 120x120 cm (1 cavity) and 80x160 cm (1 cavity).
The new moulds are designed for Industry 4.0 platforms and are equipped with advanced sensors capable of continuously monitoring the mould production cycle and measuring operating parameters.
These data are sent to a remote web platform which can be used to manage traceability and the life cycle of moulds and punches so as to optimise the reconditioning and purchase processes.
The data are processed by an industrial PC and viewed via a simple and intuitive interface that alerts the operator rapidly in the event of a fault, reducing costs due to malfunctions and breakdowns.
