Rogério Gustavo Arns Sampaio appointed new chairman of CecrisaModena, 5 September 2002 - In July 2002 Rogério Gustavo Arns Sampaio was appointed new chairman of Cecrisa. Rogerio Sampaio, 47, has a degree in mechanical engineering from the university of Rio Grande do Sul and many years of experience in the sector. From 1997 to 2000 he was sales and marketing manager at Cecrisa, a position he subsequently held at Portobello. Sampaio takes over from Cesario Rogerio who was Cecrisa chairman for 5 years.
Cecrisa Revestimentos Ceramicos is the leading Brazilian manufacturer of ceramic floor tiles, wall tiles, trim pieces and porcelain tile. In 2001 it produced 32.4 million square metres of tiles in the five industrial plants of Santa Catarina, Goias and Minas Gerais. The group's total turnover last year amounted to 280.4 million real (4.8% up on 2000), of which 58.4 million real were generated from exports. Forecast turnover in 2002 is 325.4 million real (+16%). The company exports its products to more than fifty countries under the Cecrisa and Portinari brand names. Sanpaio.jpg
