Sicer debuts at the Milan Design Week

From April 20 to 25, the Italian ceramic color manufacturer presents “Metamorphosis” at the Arte in Salotto exhibition space in the heart of Brera.

For the first time, Sicer takes part in the Fuorisalone during the Milan Design Week with Metamorphosis, an experiential installation that brings to the foreground what usually remains unseen: the moment when material, through research, becomes a ceramic project.

Sicer’s debut takes shape within Arte in Salotto, an exhibition space in the heart of Brera, in Via Milazzo, conceived as an environment where ceramic material is offered for direct observation in its technical complexity and sensory quality.

An installation of absolute formal rigor symbolizes this transformation, where nature and ceramic design merge seamlessly through a process that appears almost alchemical, such is the perfection of the result, yet is in fact the outcome of the most advanced chemical and application technologies.

Among the key materials featured in Metamorphosis is the “Rosso Cardinale” project, born from an exclusive collaboration with Margraf, an Italian excellence in marble processing. Through Ipogeo technology by Margraf, the marble is processed at surface level, enhancing veining and highly distinctive details that normally remain hidden within the stone’s structure. Sicer starts from this evolution of material and translates it into ceramic form. Inspired by what Ipogeo has brought to light, it reinterprets the surface in a formulation that goes beyond marble reproduction, giving it a new identity.

This is a conscious transformation, capable of uniting aesthetic vision with production precision. The focus shifts to what usually remains implicit: the chemical variables that determine the technical resistance of a finish, the way light interacts with a matte effect, the tactile quality of a ceramic that has undergone cycles of study, testing, and calibration before reaching production.

The exhibition unfolds in three stages: material in its primary form (marble), its technological transformation, and the ceramic result delivered to manufacturers and brought into the world. Chemistry, digital experimentation, industrial technology, art, and the ability to anticipate trends: Sicer reinvents ceramic material by engineering it.

Choosing to participate in the Milan design event positions Sicer as a distinctive component of every process of ceramic excellence. An “invisible” element that nonetheless makes the difference. This is confirmed by the prestigious collaborations with the leading porcelain stoneware manufacturers around the world, who choose Sicer as their partner for the development of new ceramic projects distinguished by beauty, healthiness, and sustainability.

“With Metamorphosis, we bring to the center of the design system a conversation that until now has taken place only within the ceramic supply chain: chemistry as a creative act, and the role technological research plays in building the identity of a ceramic and architectural project. Milan Design Week is the place where this vision finally finds a tangible dimension”, says Annalisa Ricci, Sicer’s Marketing & Communication.

Metamorphosis will take place from April 20 to 25, from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., at Camilla Prini Gallery - Arte in Salotto, Via Milazzo 6, Brera Design District, Milan
