Digital decoratio- Colorobbia: a new range of inks

Digital decoration is radically changing the way in which ceramic tiles are designed and produced. This technology allows for aesthetic effects that would not be achievable with conventional decoration processes and the flexibility of the system enables considerable savings to be made in terms of production costs.

In cooperation with the print head producers and the leading decorating machine manufacturers, Colorobbia has developed a full range of inks that expand the working colour spaces to allow for the reproduction of the widest possible colour gamut with the smallest number of inks.
The gamut is based on five fundamental colours: cyan, yellow, black, magenta and brown.
The inks are mutually balanced so as to avoid the risk of distorted colours; they are suitable for the different jet conditions and for all production requirements; and they can be integrated with additional colour variants to enable ceramic producers to further expand the colour space that can be used in their processes. The inks are produced under strict quality control procedures to assure customers the highest performance characteristics.

Colorobbia has channelled significant human and instrumental resources into the selection and evaluation of the most suitable software programs available on the market for colour management in the digital workflow, from creation of the various profiles through to association of the profiles (conversion) with the desired images on the finished products. In its research and development laboratories it also has various plotters with heads that are able to faithfully reproduce the operating conditions of the most widely used decorating machines. In the field of digital decoration as in other segments Colorobbia is a competent and reliable partner capable of working alongside customers and graphic design studios in the search for solutions that yield the best technological and aesthetic results, thereby meeting the continuous challenges that are inevitably posed by the adoption of new technologies.
