LB presents Cromaline
Cromaline is the most comprehensive and rational solution for the production of state-of-the-art porcelain tile. The system features the combined use of the Easy-Color line for colouring spray-dried powders and the now well-known Croma press feeder. Dry body colouring, a process created and patented by LB, is one of the most significant innovations to have been introduced in the ceramic industry in recent years. The process involves covering the granules of spray-dried powder with a layer of suitably batched colouring pigment. The material passes through a special mixer/colorator to assure the adhesion of the pigment to the particles of spray-dried body and homogenisation of the finished product.
The Croma press feeding system, likewise covered by international patent, is one of the most innovative technologies for the production of through-bodied and glazed porcelain tile and combines aesthetic potential with high productivity. The Cromaline line has a number of major advantages in terms of production, including simplified plant engineering, flexible production and lower production costs. In particular, it provides the possibility of more compact and flexible layouts compared to traditional porcelain tile lines. The Easy-Color continuous colouring system is able to reduce the number of silos used for storing spray-dried products, while Croma allows a single feeder to be used to meet the various production requirements in terms of both size and aesthetic qualities. Croma can be used for the production of both through-bodied porcelain tile and glazed porcelain tile (glazed either at the press or on the glazing line).
The possibility of alternating various batching systems on the machine makes it possible to feed the press mould with powders of different particle size so as to create travertine, veined or varied-shade effects.
Cromaline therefore provides the best response to the need to cut production costs, guaranteeing optimised production capacity of both the spray dryer and the press. The system also allows exceptional aesthetic results to be obtained using relatively low-cost materials such as simple spray-dried and micronised powders, in many cases without the need for polishing.
