The American ceramic tile market: the opinion of Laufen/United States Cerami
This was largely due to the strong development of our products, which are becoming increasingly sophisticated and have distinctive designs and finishes.
The high-end US market requires certain very specific qualities that very few companies are able to deliver.
Porcelain tile, both glazed and unglazed, is the most popular product type and is now well established for residential applications. I am also very optimistic about tile demand as we are expecting an annual increase of around 6% in the United States over the next three years.
One of the ways we are tackling this highly competitive market is by making substantial investments in our facility in Brazil, where we plan to increase capacity to fully exploit the manufacturing advantages offered by that country and its geographical proximity to the United States.
