Canada: Slight Decline in the Tile Market in 2025

Canadian tile consumption in 2025 is estimated at around 31.5 million m², down 1.1% compared to 2024.

According to Statistics Canada data (available through October 2025), Canadian tile consumption in 2025 is estimated at approximately 31.5 million m², slightly down from 2024 (-1.1%). With virtually no significant domestic production, consumption data essentially correspond to import volumes.

In the first ten months of the year, the five largest exporters to Canada by volume were China, Italy, India, Spain, and Türkiye.

Considering the value of imports (FOB) through October 2025, Italy remains the main supplier of tiles in Canada, with sales amounting to 137.9 million Canadian dollars (+0.8% vs October 2024 YTD) and a market share of 38%. Italy is followed by China, Spain, USA and Türkiye.
