ABK Group reports turnover in excess of 100 million euro

The large Italian ceramic company ABK Group S.p.A. has reported a consolidated turnover of 106 million euro in 2008 (compared to 98 million euro in 2007).

The good performance of the company from Finale Emilia (province of Modena) is the result of continuous investments in commercial activities, marketing and research, which have enabled it to secure an increase in sales during this difficult period for the sector.

The Group, which owns the ABK, Ariana/Valverde and Flaviker/Pisa brands, is devoting efforts to restructuring and rationalising its production activities with a view to offering services and products that respond more closely to the needs of the market. One of its short-term plans is an investment for the creation of a factory in Solignano where a new kiln will be installed.
Special emphasis will be given to worker health and protection of the environment, and ABK will be presenting an eco-sustainability mark during the first few months of the year.

ABK Group’s chairman Roberto Fabbri is optimistic for 2009. “We have what it takes to play a leading role and to address the challenges of 2009 with confidence, maintaining our existing market shares and our competitive position compared to rivals,” he said.

In 2009 the company will be taking part in the exhibitions Mosbuild (Moscow) and Cersaie (Bologna) and will unveil new catalogues featuring novel products and proposals for customers and end users.
