ADI Ceramics & Bathroom Design Award at Cersaie 2018
Cersaie 2018 hosted the fifth edition of the ADI Ceramics & Bathroom Design Award, launched in partnership with the Industrial Design Association ADI to recognise the most innovative Italian products in the ceramic tile and bathroom furnishing sectors.
The winners were selected by a panel of experts who examined exhibited products during the first few days of the show, identifying those that displayed the best combination of innovation and design excellence.
Three winners and one special mention were chosen for each of the two categories, ceramic tiles and bathroom furnishings.
The tile sector award went to Ceramica Fondovalle for the product 20Pure, the 163x324 cm slab from the MyTop collection with a thickness of 2 cm. In this full-body product, the vein passing through the entire thickness of the tile is not created digitally but using technical ceramic bodies consisting of dry coloured powders handled with hi-tech systems.
The other winning projects were Mosaico+ with Diamond and Jointed and Decoratori Bassanesi with Segments, while the special mention went to 41zero42.
The winners in the bathroom furnishing sector were Stella Rubinetterie with Simple, Arblu with Sistema Pietrablu and Duka with Natura 4000. The special mention went to Pba for the new series of foldaway aids.
The chosen products will make up a shortlist for submission to the ADI Design Index 2019, an annual publication by ADI containing the best of Italian design put into production and selected by the ADI Permanent Design Monitor.
