Bedeschi modernises Siceram plant

Siceram, a leading Romanian manufacturer of blocks, roof tiles and decorative elements, has once again chosen Bedeschi as the plant supplier for the expansion of its production lines.

The work was carried out in a number of steps and covered both the block and the roof tile production lines. The first line, which has already been completed and successfully tested, underwent modifications to the dryer (the old internal ventilation system was replaced with a more efficient model) and to the automatic dry product handling system (the traditional setting machine was replaced with a modern robotic device), while the tunnel kiln cooling area was expanded. The upgrade brought a more than 15% increase in production capacity.

The second step of the project focused on a new line for firing special roof tile pieces (10,000 pieces per day) which will integrate with the line equipped with tunnel dryers and a single layer kiln.

A new chamber kiln (shuttle kiln) containing 8 cars with U cassettes and an automatic kiln car loading/unloading system will also be installed. The supply contract also includes two new pre-kilns (one for the single layer kiln and the other for the chamber kiln) for preheating the product before it enters the kiln, as well as automatic kiln car handling systems.
