BMR sells its 500th polishing machine to Iris Ceramica Group
The Leviga Plus is part of a complete finishing line supplied to BMR’s longstanding customer Iris Ceramica Group for its Fiandre factory.
“We are delighted by this fortunate coincidence which meant that the 500th Leviga was delivered to a leading local company with whom we have been collaborating for years. It testifies to our shared commitment to the excellence of Italian-made products and encourages us to continue to improve and develop increasingly effective technologies for the ceramic industry,” said BMR’s chairman Paolo Sassi when commenting on the shipment of the 500th polishing machine produced by the company to the Iris Ceramica Group. The Leviga Plus was sold as part of a complete finishing line commissioned for the Fiandre plant, a historic company belonging to the group headed by Federica Minozzi.
The plant consists of pre-grinding, lapping and Supershine treatment sections and will be used for processing sizes up to 1200x1200 mm.
The premium model in the Leviga range for lapping, satin finishing and polishing ceramic surfaces, the Leviga Plus consists of a single base with a double swinging upper bridge, each part of which has an independent speed for increased tool performance.
The machine is controlled by various panels: a touch screen for the rapid display of the working parameters and alarms with a panel for each head, a pneumatic panel for pressure and counterpressure control, an electrical panel with digital ammeter, motor start and stop and spindle up/down buttons and finally a control panel with digital indicators for the main control parameters.
The line supplied to Fiandre also includes Supershine, the hi-tech treatment machine that is transforming the ceramic surface finishing process. It is similar to a lapping machine but is heavier and equipped with dry technology, effectively making it the first dry super-polisher. The process is based on a mechanical and physical interaction between the tool, the surface and the applied chemical product and is designed to enhance the digital graphics of the surfaces and give them a high level of gloss and protection.
