Ceramic Tiles of Italy a leading player at Coverings
The new design of the CTI institutional stand was created by the Bernard Tschumi firm of architects from New York, which last year won the “Institutional” category of the CTI Design Award for the Paul L. Cejas School of Architecture of Miami.
The stand is characterised by large open spaces, interrupted visually only by 12 translucent cylinders and 56 tile “curtains” in a spectacular installation coloured with shades of red and orange. The idea behind the project is an innovative use of tiles as a light and flexible material.
Architects from Tschumi will describe the project during the CTI international press conference, to be held on the afternoon of 3 May. The conference will be followed by the presentation ceremony for the Ceramic Tiles of Italy Design Award 2005 for US architects.
On the afternoon of 3 May there will be a cocktail party for Italian exhibitors and their customers, organised this year in cooperation with CTDA (Ceramic Tile Distributors Association). The Assopiastrelle American Distributor Award 2005 will be presented during this event.
