Ceramica Portobello embraces Sacmi Deep Digital philosophy
The Brazilian ceramic group has installed a DDG digital printer alongside the existing DHD decorating machine in operation since 2022.
Brazilian ceramic tile producer Ceramica Portobello has embraced the Sacmi Deep Digital philosophy by installing the exclusive DDG 2022 digital printer alongside its existing DHD-D2012 digital wet decorating machine, which has been operating downstream of Sacmi’s PCR 3000 super-compactor since 2022.
By using both the DHD and DDG machines, Portobello aims to extend the versatility of the Sacmi Continua+ line in terms of sizes and thicknesses to include aesthetic and material decoration of the slab surface. The DDG allows for simultaneous application of inks, grits and effects in coordination with DHD.
These two solutions have enabled Portobello to create products with deep decorations and innovative graphics and textures. These were presented at Revestir 2024 held in March in São Paulo, South America’s most important exhibition of ceramic products and technologies.
