Eleven companies competing for the Tecnargilla Design Award 2018
Eleven exhibitors at Tecnargilla have taken part in the fifth edition of the Tecnargilla Design Award (TDA), the competition to reward the latest innovations in technology, materials and surface finishes that can be applied to the production of ceramic tiles.
BMR, Colorobbia Italia, Digital Design, Esmalglass Itaca, LB Officine Meccaniche, Martinelli-Emar Impianti, Sacmi, Sertile, Surfaces, System and Torrecid have all expressed their creativity on the subject of “The three dimensions”, among the hottest future trends in the ceramic industry. The three-dimensional aspect of materials is a concept that modern architecture is addressing with a lot of interest: looking to the future, ceramics need to acquire more thickness, build up more body and give surfaces volume and depth. This approach to design combines different shapes and colours on large ceramic slabs, with a view to offering the utmost freedom of customisation.
The competing projects will be displayed in a permanent exhibition situated in the exhibition South Hall for the duration of the event, revealing the enormous potential of technology providers in the field of technical and styling research.
The winner, selected by a jury consisting of the technical directors of ceramic manufacturers, tile retailers, designers and journalists, will be announced on Monday 24th September at 5 pm, in the exhibition Central Hall of Rimini’s exhibition district.
