Emar supplies X55 to Vitra for new materials
Emar Impianti (Martinelli Group) has fulfilled a major order from Vitra Karo (Turkey) to supply an X55 multiple loading system for the production of new porcelain tiles, which has been installed at the company’s Bozuyuk facility.
The supply contract includes an X55 Micron system which is capable of filling the press mould with 3 different layers of material, combining new aesthetic potential with levels of production performance that simply cannot be achieved with traditional double filling systems. The X55 system is able to simultaneously load the press mould with a variety of different materials such as spray-dried and micronised powders, glazes, flakes and granules.
The new Vitra surfaces, officially presented at Cersaie 2016, have an extremely natural, textured look and are produced in a high-performance manufacturing process with a high press cycle speed and reduction in quantities of materials used. The sizes (450x900 mm and 600x600 mm) are the result of intense R&D efforts that have involved not only the Vitra technical staff but also the Emar Impianti research laboratory and some of the leading ceramic glaze and colour producers.
