Fincibec Group chooses EkoRoll packaging machines from Sacmi-Nuova Fima
Two new EkoRoll automatic packaging machines from Sacmi-Nuova Fima have been installed in the Sassuolo and Roteglia facilities owned by Ceramica Century, a member of Fincibec Group.
The group's CEO Vittorio Borelli commented: "EkoRoll is the ideal solution for complex cardboard forming problems in terms of both required raw material quantities and productivity. The main goal of the investment was to boost sorting department efficiency and productivity, which in the case of large sizes in particular is a key competitiveness factor."
EkoRoll, which stands out for its linearity and simplicity, replaces pre-printed blanks with rolls of cardboard that are cut and formed in real time by means of a die-cutting system integrated into the machine, then fed to the printer to apply corporate brands and logos.
The machine can handle formats on both feed sides, from a minimum of 200 mm up to a maximum of 1200 mm. It ensures total perimeter protection of the tile stack, especially at the corners, as well as raw materials savings of up to 60%.
The system can also be customised up to a minimum of 150 mm on one side and a maximum of 1800 mm on the other to package special items such as large panels. Along with optimised consumption of raw materials such as cardboard and glue, EkoRoll also ensures rationalisation of stocks (which are reduced to plain rolls) and lower waste and disposal costs.
