Forterra again chooses Bedeschi for its Wilnecote site
Bedeschi has been awarded the project for the Wilnecote plant, which will feature a new state-of-the-art turnkey line built by the Limena-based company.
After being commissioned to design and build the complete turnkey line currently at an advanced stage of installation at the Desford site, Bedeschi has again been chosen by Forterra as its technology supplier for the Wilnecote factory in Staffordshire, where the UK brick manufacturer is set to invest £27 million (approximately €31.8 million).
The investment will modernise the 30-year-old facility and bring it up to best-in-class standards of efficiency and sustainability.
Here too Bedeschi will supply a turnkey plant consisting of latest-generation clay preparation, extrusion, drying, firing, handling and packaging machinery, enabling the factory to expand its range of high-quality brick and increase production of the famous Staffordshire Blue Brick while adopting a sustainable approach consistent with Industry 4.0 criteria.
Environmental sustainability and digitalisation are key to Bedeschi’s long-term vision, an approach that is reflected in the company’s entire portfolio of efficient and innovative technological solutions designed to meet the strictest quality standards while delivering high levels of performance coupled with low energy consumption.
The investment will open up new opportunities for Forterra in the construction market, including large-scale projects such as schools and hospitals.ù
This new contract confirms Bedeschi’s leading position in the UK market, strengthened by the new subsidiary founded at the end of 2020 to provide pre- and after-sales technical and commercial support.
