A green apple for Cersaie 2010

The design for the new poster for Cersaie 2010 (Bologna, 28 September - 2 October) has been approved. Out of 123 projects submitted to the Beautiful Ideas competition organised specifically for this purpose and launched at Cersaie 2009, the chosen design is the image created by Alessandra Parodi, an industrial design student from the university of Genoa. This break from tradition represents a changing of the guard, as emerging young designers take the place of established professionals.

Featuring an apple formed from nine green ceramic tiles topped by a stylised stalk, the design reflects the concept of "Ceramic Eden", a theme focusing on the changes that are taking place in society and the consequent adaptability that is required from new ceramic materials in response to emerging global scenarios.

The competition awards 5,000 euro to the winning university and 2,000 euro to the student selected for the first prize. These are followed by smaller awards for special mentions.
