Gruppo Faetano relaunches Pastorelli
Pastorelli is a well-known name in the ceramic sector with a particularly strong presence in foreign markets, where it generates more than 80% of its turnover (particularly Germany, France and the United States). "In 2003 we expect to use a production capacity of about 4 million square metres (glazed and unglazed porcelain tile) and generate a turnover in the region of 35-40 million euro," Mularoni said. Although there will be no commercial integration, some synergies may be established at a production level in order to achieve efficient plant utilisation.
The Faetano Group consists of Ceramica Faetano (factory located in the Republic of San Marino) and Ceramica Del Conca (factory in San Clemente, Rimini). In 2002 it reported a group turnover of 80 million euro (20% up on 2001) with an output of 8 million square metres (75% single-fired and glazed and through-bodied porcelain floor tiles; 25% wall tiles). Exports accounted for 60% of sales. Overall the Group employs a workforce of 303 people.
Pastorelli Ceramiche, based in Savignano sul Panaro in the province of Modena (30 kilometres from Sassuolo), is one of the best-known Italian ceramic manufacturers. The company produces glazed and unglazed porcelain tile and single-fired tile. In 2002 it reported an output of 5 million square metres (95% floor tiles and 5% wall tiles). Exports accounted for 80% of sales.
