Opera Group strengthens its partnership with Officine Smac

Last year, Opera Group, a ceramic tile manufacturer with its offices and showroom in Maranello and factory in Camposanto, strengthened its collaboration with Officine Smac of Fiorano Modenese with the installation of a complete new glazing line, bringing the capacity of its production site to 50,000 sq.m/day (around 14 million sq.m/year).

The very wide product range consists of red body single fired, porcelain and double fired wall tiles with a high technical content and sizes ranging from the classic 33x33 cm up to the new 15x90 cm produced in a double row.

The order fulfilled by Smac included modernising and completing the existing conveyors to ensure greater size change and management flexibility thanks to automatic production line switching and by-pass functions.

The digital decoration line has also been equipped with two Kryo cooling devices, which have brought a considerable increase in quality and output by reducing machine stoppages for head cleaning and eliminating problems relating to moisture and heat released by the tiles transiting along the line. With its patented innovative double closed cycle cooling system capable of attaining operating temperatures down to -25°C and air volumes as high as 9000 m³/h, Kryo is a vital piece of equipment for digital tile decoration lines.
