Porcelanosa chooses advanced digital printing technology from System Ceramics

As part of its recent industrial investments, Porcelanosa Grupo has renewed its longstanding partnership with System Ceramics (Coesia Group) by choosing the most innovative digital printing technologies for its facilities. One of these solutions is Creadigit Infinity, the uniquely powerful printer that has established itself on the market as a genuine revolution in digital printing. The two 1200x1200 mm tile glazing lines have been equipped with three machines: a 12-bar Creadigit Infinity 1.4 on the first line, and one 4-bar and one 12-bar Creadigit Infinity 1.4 on the second.
Key features of this technology include the flexibility, variability and qualitative excellence guaranteed by System Electronics’ latest generation CoreXpress platform, which processes and manages the information required to reproduce the image on the ceramic surface in real time. In addition, the 12 or more bars, each of which can mount different printheads, allow for numerous configurations and a wide range of graphic effects.
Creadigit Infinity is used in conjunction with the new Creavision e-View, the highly sophisticated, full-view reading system designed to improve print quality, resolve process defects and deliver even higher levels of performance. Another of the digital technologies adopted by Porcelanosa is Genya, a piece tracking system (synchroniser/sequencer/collector consisting of proprietary software and hardware) capable of coordinating the printing process between machines located at different points on the production line, thereby optimising production and process times while avoiding raw material wastage.
System Ceramics technology also plays an important role in the new large-size tile and slab facility started up by Porcelanosa in January. Along with the Creadigit Infinity printers (3 on each glazing line), it has also been equipped with a Superfast mouldless press with high production flexibility and zero waste. In addition, to guarantee the highest level of quality in the production of through-vein slabs for interior design applications (kitchen countertops and worktops), the innovative Genesis three-dimensional full-body decoration system with digital control of spray-dried coloured powder discharge was installed at the press infeed.
