Revestir, an expanding trade fair

02/03/05 - A total of 130 exhibitors took part in Revestir 2005 (8-11 March), compared to 100 at last year’s event. Some 40 of these were foreign companies, prevalently from Turkey (most of which were natural stone producers), Italy, Spain and China.

Revestir was held in the Transamérica Expo Center in São Paulo and promoted by Anfacer (Brazilian ceramic tile manufacturers’ association) and Abiemg (Brazilian marble and granite industry association). In their pre-show estimates, the organisers anticipated a rise in turnover (US $100 million) and an increase in numbers of visitors (about 30,000).

The technology suppliers were also present this year. For the third year running, a number of Italian companies (Nuova Fima, Air Power, BMR, LB, Sacmi Imola, Nuove Officine Ancora, Smac, System, Gruppo Minerali, Sacs Tecnica) took part in the exhibition as part of a joint pavilion organised by Acimac and the Italian Trade Commission ICE called Tecnargilla Brasil.

The 3rd “International Forum of Architecture and Construction” was held at the same time as Revestir and was attended by leading building industry professionals. These include internationally renowned designer Karim Rashid.
