Rossi Motoriduttori Spain gains ISO 9001 certification
Rossi Motorreductores employs 24 people in an area of 1,200 square metres. The recently gained certification is part of a broader project that includes certification of the Group's British (January 1999), French (January 2000) and Spanish subsidiaries, and extension of the warranty to 3 years on all products distributed by certified branches.
The Rossi Motoriduttori Group has seven production facilities in Italy, of which six are in the Modena ceramic manufacturing area and one at Lecce, and 9 foreign sales branches in Germany, UK, France, Spain, Australia, Scandinavia, Holland, India and China. In 2002 the Group produced 350,000 gear motors, reduction gears, variable speed drives and electric motors, which were sold worldwide for application on all kinds of machinery, generating an estimated group turnover of 83.5 million euro. The same year it also invested 1 million euro in research and development and 7.5 million euro in innovation, including 6 million euro on process innovation and 1.5 million euro on product innovation.
The in-focus section includes the 2002 balance sheets and 2003 forecasts for Rossi Motoriduttori
In fiscal 2002 the Rossi Motoriduttori Group expects to have consolidated the results achieved in 2001. In the currently contracting market situation, group turnover is expected to remain substantially stable at around 83.5 million euro (compared to 83.1 million euro in 2001). However, fairer weather is on the horizon.
The Group expects to enjoy 5% growth in 2003, but believes that the percentage could be even higher if the market picks up. This growth is seen as a result of the choices made in recent years (particularly 2002) such as renovation and completion of the product range (including the acquisition of Smei) and commercial investments abroad through the setting up of new branches (including some in 2003), further sustained by greater competitiveness due to improvements in organisation and major investments in innovation and quality.
The Modena-based group's products are exported to more than 46 countries worldwide. Although 55% of the group's turnover is generated in the domestic market, the internationalisation process is expanding rapidly. The export percentage increased from 25% in 1987 to 45% in 2001. Export sales in 2001 were mainly made in European Union countries (75%). The foreign markets which showed strong growth in 2001 were the Middle East (+15%), Australia and New Zealand (+10%), the Americas (+3%), Spain (+6%) and France (+6%). Countries such as Germany and the UK have also performed well.
