SanMarco: Investing to beat the crisis
With 20 production sites and 2,200 employees in France, Italy, Spain, Malaysia and the United States, the French multinational group Terreal has been the leading player in the field of terracotta construction materials for more than 150 years with a product range that includes roof tiles, structures, façades and decorations.
It has a turnover almost 400 million euros, one third of which is generated by exports.
Castiglion Fiorentino, a town set in the splendid Tuscan countryside in the province of Arezzo, is home to one of the three facilities of San Marco Terreal Italia, since 2000 the Group's Italian subsidiary. It is also the location of one of the most modern plants for the production of facing bricks, facing tiles and roof tiles following a major production line modernisation project carried out between the end of 2014 and the first few months of the current year.
This 2.5 million euro investment is unique in the heavy clay sector in Italy and demonstrates the parent company's commitment to strengthening its presence in Italy.
