Spanish ceramic industry to meet at Cevisama

With just a few days to go before the start of the Spanish ceramic exhibition Cevisama, to be held in Valencia from 8 to 11 February, the event’s organisers are quietly optimistic. After two very difficult years, the show has recovered in terms of exhibitor numbers and exhibition space and has regained its role as a key international showcase for the finest product innovations.

More than 400 companies will be taking part in the tile, natural stone, marble, frit and glaze and bathroom furnishing sections. The Spanish industry will be out in force with the participation of leading tile producers such as Pamesa, Natucer, Ceracasa, Saloni, Tau, Azteca, Keraben, Venere, Inalco, Peronda, Grespania, Vives and Aparici. Major foreign companies including Nitco (India), Vitra (Turkey) and Al-Amir Porcelain and Ceramics (Egypt) have increased their exhibition space. The Italian companies present include Ceramiche Gambarelli, Marazzi (as Marazzi Iberia) and Rondine.

The 2011 exhibition will feature a larger bathroom section, largely due to the H2SHOW devoted to companies showcasing design materials for the bathroom (19 companies). Ancillary events include the Architecture and Design Forum from 9 to 11 February (part of the Cevisama Indi programme), which will be devoted to the theme of “modernity”. It will be an opportunity for interior designers, architects and designers to meet to promote uses and to discuss the latest trends in ceramic materials and natural stone in architecture. Trans/Hitos will be back this year with the title “Confluences”, an exhibition divided into six sections in a space of more than 600 square metres showcasing prototypes of architectural projects combined with ceramics and their uses in domestic and urban design.
