Vajillas Corona invests in a second Sacmi-Sama solution
Colombian firm Vajillas Corona, a longstanding manufacturer of tableware in the Latin American market and part of Organización Corona, recently doubled its large-format isostatic pressing capacity by renewing its partnership with Sama, a Sacmi Group company specialising in the design and production of highly automated tableware production solutions.
A second LPP-1-45 OFM 8-R45 pressing and finishing line has been installed in the production facility at Caldas (Antioquia), which will be used for the production of products mainly aimed at the hotel industry.
The system is integrate into the existing production line and operates in conjunction with other Sacmi presses already installed, feeding in parallel a single conveyor belt which carries pressed and stacked products downstream to the glazing line and roller kiln produced by Riedhammer-Sacmi.
One of the key characteristics of the line is its capacity to handle all manufacturing and finishing tasks for plates with diameters of up to 455 mm or even larger diagonals in the case of non-round articles. The press productivity (from 250 to 300 pieces depending on the round or irregular shape of the article) is extremely high for items of these sizes, underlining the system’s unrivalled market leadership.
The versatility, flexibility and efficiency of the press goes hand in hand with the advantages of the OFM 8-R45 automatic finisher, designed to dry-finish all types of articles (round, multi-corner, square, rectangular, plate or dish, and even articles with irregular asymmetric edges).
With this latest investment, the Colombian company reinforces its longstanding industrial partnership with Sama, continuing its process of technological innovation aimed at providing its customers with the best available standards in the market.
