Czech Republic: Positive forecasts for residential building

Czech Republic: Positive forecasts for residential building05/05/2003 - About 27,000 new houses were built in the Czech Republic last year and a further 45,000 to 50,000 are expected to be built each year until 2010. The figures, released by the Italian Trade Commission ICE (http://www.ice.it/estero2/praga/default.htm), are based on a building sector survey covering the most important construction companies in the country.

The expansion of the residential building segment will have the positive effect of increasing sales and imports of building materials, including tiles, sanitaryware, bathroom furnishings, door and window frames, etc.
