Italian Ceramic machinery in 2005

09/01/06 - According to Acimac’s preliminary estimates, the Italian ceramic machinery industry will close 2005 with an approximately 10% increase in total turnover compared to 2004 to reach a total value of about 1,750 million euro.
In spite of this seemingly positive situation, however, the companies in the sector are seeing a gradual erosion of their profit margins.
Furthermore, the forecasts for 2006 are hardly positive, with a fall in turnover of between 5% and 10% anticipated.

As Acimac’s vice chairman Fabio Tarozzi confirmed, “We are experiencing a stagnant situation in the various markets with low technology investments in more or less all geographical areas without the prospect of a rapidly expanding market like that of Iran a couple of years ago.”
