50 projects shortlisted for Wienerberger Brick Award 24
The shortlist of architectural projects has been drawn up for the 11th edition of the prestigious award.
A total of 50 projects have been shortlisted for the Brick Award 24, the prestigious international architecture competition promoted by Wienerberger which every two years honours projects that stand out for their innovative use of brick. The 743 submissions from 54 countries reflect the enormous interest in the competition among industry professionals and above all the outstanding qualities of clay brick in terms of aesthetics, performance and sustainability.
“The judging criteria include the innovative quality of the design and architectural concept, as well as a strong focus on recycling, sustainability and energy efficiency,” said Heimo Scheuch, CEO of Wienerberger AG. “By promoting and recognizing the innovative use of brick, we are helping to stimulate environmentally friendly and resource-efficient construction.”
A panel of internationally renowned architects will select a winner for each of the five categories (Feeling at home, Living together, Sharing public spaces, Working together and Building outside the box), as well as an overall winner.
The awards will be presented at an official ceremony to be held in early summer 2024.
