Al Maha Ceramics starts up with Italian technology

14/03/07 - The newly formed company Al Maha Ceramics in the Sultanate of Oman is due to start up production towards mid 2007.
Located in the industrial area of Suhar, the factory will be equipped with two lines for the production of dry-milled single-fired tile with a total production capacity of 4.7 million sq.m/year. The two lines will be fed by a raw materials preparation plant called PPFV-CDP, supplied entirely by the Italian company Manfredini & Schianchi.
The plant is suitable for the production of large-format floor and wall tiles. Its high production flexibility allows it to handle compositions for both floor and wall tiles with different raw materials on the same line.

The raw materials have been analysed at the Manfredini & Schianchi technology centre and the compositions created in cooperation with technicians from the Siti - Barbieri & Tarozzi Group.
This Group has supplied Al Maha with the two production lines consisting of three Clock 2500/1750 presses, two five-layer dryers, three complete glazing lines, two single-layer roller kilns with corresponding pre-kiln dryers, two Smart-Line sorting lines, two palletisers, three ball mills for glaze preparation, three complete technological laboratories, one third-fire tile production line, the entire storage line serving the kilns, dryers and sorting lines, as well as handling equipment with LGV laser-guided vehicles.
