Pietro Cassani designated chairman of Acimac


The Board of Directors of ACIMAC (Italian ceramic plant and machinery manufacturers' association), meeting on the morning of Wednesday 19 March, unanimously designated Pietro Cassani as the Association's new Chairman for the four-year term 2008-2012.

"This prestigious designation helps to underscore the strength and unity of Acimac as an association capable of bringing together large, medium and small companies that share a common desire to innovate and supply cutting-edge technological solutions to markets the world over," commented Fausto Tarozzi, spokesman of the Designation Committee which also includes Ivanno Ligabue and Franco Stefani.

Pietro Cassani, 39, is a native of Imola with a degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Bologna and a Masters in Business Administration from SDA Bocconi in Milan. This year he was appointed general manager of Sacmi Imola, the largest ceramic machinery manufacturer.
He previously held a two-year position as general manager of Sacmi's WhiteWare division. From 2003 to 2006, he was managing director and general manager of System (Fiorano Modenese) and from 2000 to 2003 managing director at Ceramiche Atlas Concorde (Spezzano, Modena).

The new Chairman will be officially elected during the next Annual General Members Meeting which will be held at Acimac's headquarters in Baggiovara (Modena) on 17 June.
