Cosmec strengthens its strategic role
Cosmec, a leading player in the field of automation for the heavy clay industry and part of the Sacmi Group, has undergone a major change in terms of corporate structure.
While Sacmi will maintain a significant portion of share capital, as of January the company’s shareholders also include several well-known industry professionals who will take on active roles in the company’s business operations. The aim of the new corporate structure is to enable the company to further develop its brick and structural ceramics business, while leaving Sacmi in control of the flat extrusion business unit. This will enable Cosmec to develop specific and highly flexible solutions to address the radical changes that are taking place in the market and growing fragmentation of its customer base.
“Cosmec has served the heavy clay sector for many years and will continue to do so in the future,” explained company chairman Ernesto Barbieri. “The aim of this operation is to anticipate market developments with targeted diversification and company reorganisation initiatives.”
Cosmec will maintain its skills in the heavy clay sector, and after achieving excellent operational results now offers its services to customers as a competent and reliable partner.
