Eczaçıbası chooses Sacmi technology for WC casting
Vitra (Eczaçıbası Group), the largest Turkish sanitaryware manufacturer with a production capacity of more than 5 million pieces a year, has confirmed its preference for Sacmi technology for high-pressure WC casting, once again choosing AVM150 single-mould machines with 7-part resin moulds.
Following the initial installation in 2014, a total of eight AVM150 modules are now in operation at the Bozüyük facility, confirming the good results achieved in terms of quality, efficiency and productivity. The configuration adopted by Vitra consists of two AVM150 machines, an anthropomorphic robot, an FPV pre-dryer and a range of piece handling, rotation and finishing devices for the casting of complex rimmed and rimless back-to-wall and wall-mounted WCs.
In particular, the FPV pre-dryer lowers WC moisture content in a controlled and homogeneous manner, reducing deformations and consequent production rejects. Because the WCs harden rapidly (in about 1.5 hours), they can be handled easily and transported to the dryer car loading stage. The AVM cells ensure outstanding flexibility, a characteristic that is now essential in markets that demand ever-more frequent changes of models with as little disturbance to production flows as possible.
