Fabio Tarozzi elected Vice Chairman of Federmeccanica

Acimac’s Past President Fabio Tarozzi has been elected Vice Chairman of Federmeccanica, the Italian Mechanical Engineering Federation, which represents around 16,000 member companies with a total of 800,000 employees.

As the only entrepreneur from the Emilia-Romagna region in the team put together by the new Chairman Alberto Dal Poz, Tarozzi will have the task of representing all the region’s capital goods manufacturers, including ceramic and packaging machinery and other key sectors such as automotive and mechanical engineering in general.

“I accepted the appointment with a great sense of pride and responsibility and intend to do everything I can to make an active and vital contribution,” commented Fabio Tarozzi, Chairman and Managing Director of SITI B&T Group. “I will fulfil my duties with the awareness that enterprise is a common good, a collective social asset capable of promoting the well-being both of individuals and of the community as a whole. I will also focus on our core mission regarding the regulatory aspects of the National Labour Contract for mechanical engineering workers. I will represent the interests of the Emilia-Romagna region in this large sector and will do everything possible to respond to the requests of the business community.”

During the next two years of his two-year term as Vice Chairman of Federmeccanica, Tarozzi intends to raise awareness of the need for a more flexible labour market and the introduction of potential new welfare systems.

Another of Federmeccanica’s aims will be to elaborate a shared vision of the fourth industrial revolution and to evaluate threats, opportunities and potential development paths, fully aware that the future of manufacturing will involve both digitalisation and a human-centric approach. For this purpose, the courage to rethink industrial relations is an essential requirement for initiating a process of cultural change and developing ambitious future projects that will benefit both businesses and people.
