The MECS Research Centre has published the new forecast report entitled Ceramic Tile Market Forecast Analysis: TRENDS 2024-2028. Tile production and demand are set to recover gradually over the next five years, with projected annual growth rates of +2.2% and +2.5%, respectively.

According to preliminary figures compiled by MECS - Acimac Research Centre, the Italian ceramic technology industry’s sales fell by 1.7% but still exceeded €2.3 billion. “This is a good result despite the slowdown in orders in the second half of the year,” commented Acimac Chairman Paolo Lamberti.
Indian tile exports grew by 31% in the first half year of 2023 to 272 million sqm, further closing the gap with China which still leads the rankings of the major exporters.

According to the Acimac-MECS preliminary figures, the Italian ceramic machinery and technology sector is set to record a turnover of € 2.16 billion in 2022 (up 5.2% on 2021) and has already received orders amounting to four months of production in 2023.

The Italian machinery manufacturers’ sales grew by 39% to €2,056 million in 2021, including strong performances in both the domestic market (+31%) and exports (+42%). Acimac’s newly elected chairman Paolo Lamberti commented: “We feel very confident. 45% of our member companies are expecting further business growth this year.”
From the uncertainties surrounding gas availability and prices to the race to replace Ukrainian raw materials. The Italian ceramic tile industry is facing the challenge of rising costs against the backdrop of a very buoyant market.
MECS has published its five-year forecast survey for the world ceramic tile market. According to the report Ceramic Tile Market Forecast Analysis - Trend 2021-2025, production will grow at an average annual rate of 5%.
