Ceramic World Review has published the new 2024 ranking of the world’s largest tile producers by production volumes as of December 31, 2024, drawn up in collaboration with MECS on the basis of data provided directly by the companies (or, in some cases, collected from public sources or estimated).

Firmly at the top is the U.S. multinational Mohawk Industries with its Global Ceramics division, which includes American Olean, Dal Tile, Vitromex, Eliane, Elizabeth, Marazzi, Ragno, Emilgroup, KAI, and Kerama Marazzi, and operates production facilities in the USA, Mexico, Brazil, Spain, Italy, Poland, Bulgaria, and Russia. Total tile production is estimated at over 300 million sqm. The Global Ceramics division closed 2024 with revenues of USD 4.2 billion. In the first half of 2025, sales amounted to USD 2,114.7 million (-2.1% compared to the first half of 2024), while operating profit remained stable at USD 130 million (-0.7% compared to H1 2024), thanks to higher productivity and a better product mix.

With production capacity growing in 2024 to 272 million sqm and effective production stable at 195 million sqm, the Mexican Lamosa Group consolidates its second position. In addition to its nine production facilities in Mexico, the multinational operates ten plants in South America (Argentina, Colombia, Peru, Brazil) and two factories in Spain (Roca Tiles and Baldocer). In 2024, Lamosa’s tile division achieved revenues of €1.12 billion. The first half of 2025 closed with sales of 12.69 billion pesos (about €575 million), up 9% compared to the first half of 2024 and accounting for 72% of the group’s consolidated revenues, which also includes an adhesives division.

The third-largest tile producer is the Chinese group Marco Polo, which in 2024 manufactured a total of 185 million sqm across its four Chinese production hubs and the Wonder Porcelain plant in the U.S., generating revenues of €920 million. Among the world’s top ten producers are two more Chinese groups (Dongpeng and Monalisa), to which New Pearl would also be added, although no data is available for the latter.

Further down the rankings are the UAE-based company RAK Ceramics, Thailand’s largest ceramic manufacturer SCG Group, four Brazilian groups – Carmelo Fior, Fragnani, Cedasa, and Portobello –, three Indian producers – Kajaria, Somany, and H&R Johnson – and Spain’s two largest groups – Pamesa and STN. Other European players include Poland’s Cersanit, Austria’s multinational Lasselsberger, Victoria PLC with plants in Spain and Italy, and the Turkish groups Kale and Vitra.

However, it should be noted that the ranking is not exhaustive, given the unavailability of production volume data for several groups that would certainly be included. These include the Italian multinationals Concorde and Florim, as well as Platinum and Mulia (Indonesia), Cleopatra (Egypt), Interceramic (Mexico), Viglacera (Vietnam), and Twyford (Keda Africa Group).
