Cooperativa Ceramica d’Imola chooses the new PCR2120, the smartest member of the Continua+ family
The new line joins the PCR2000, which has been in operation at the Italian ceramic group’s Faenza facility for a number of years. Sacmi has also supplied a dryer, a new Maestro kiln and a DHD digital decorating machine.
The well-known Italian ceramic tile producer Cooperativa Ceramica d’Imola has reaffirmed its longstanding partnership with Sacmi by purchasing a new Continua+ line to join the existing PCR2000, which has been in operation for a number of years at the Faenza facility.
The aim of the plant upgrade is to increase production volumes at the Faenza site while ensuring maximum environmental sustainability and optimising energy consumption.
The Continua+ line supplied to Cooperativa Ceramica d’Imola is the new PCR2120, the smartest version in the range, and will allow the company to produce tiles and slabs of various sizes, decorations and thicknesses with the highest levels of productivity and versatility and smallest overall dimensions. With its 120 cm compaction front, it is ideal for producing 120x240 cm slabs and their sub-sizes (120x120 cm, etc.) with zero waste and the lowest levels of consumption on the market.
A 7-tier dryer and new 113-metre FMA kiln, part of Sacmi’s new Maestro range of extremely high-performance thermal machines, have been installed downstream of the compactor. Sacmi also supplied Deep Digital decoration technology in the form of a new DHD.
The new kiln is the fourth to be installed at the Faenza plant and at full capacity will bring the output of the new line to as much as 9,000 sqm per day.
Cooperation between Cooperativa Ceramica d’Imola and Sacmi is also continuing at the tile producer’s Borgo Tossignano site, where an additional latest-generation kiln and dryer were recently installed.
