Villeroy & Boch completes the Sacmi RobotGlaze line in Hungary

This project completes the investment at the Hódmezővásárhely plant, which is pivotal to Villeroy & Boch’s Eastern European growth strategy

Villeroy & Boch is continuing to invest in its facility in Hódmezővásárhely in southern Hungary. The German multinational sees the Hungarian site as increasingly pivotal to its development plans and has completed the second stage of the Sacmi robotized glazing line project at the factory. The plant has been operational since early 2022 with a finishing station, internal/external glazing units and the associated handling systems and has now been completed with an additional water trap glazing machine, a second glaze spray booth controlled by a GA-OL Sacmi-Gaiotto robot and an inspection booth.

All these latest solutions have been integrated with the existing handling systems and interfaced with the customer’s factory supervisor, which is equipped with traceability and performance monitoring functions. The Sacmi-Gaiotto offline programming software platform is used to maximise plant availability and optimise production mix management. This platform was specially developed for glazing and is now used on all Sacmi sanitaryware production line automation solutions.

The line also offers numerous advantages in terms of environmental sustainability, including optimised glaze delivery quantities and flow rates (guaranteed by the patented Mass Control® system) and dry filters to allow for complete overspray recovery and reuse on the glazing line.
