Sacmi supplies new tile plant to Gural Seramik
The new plant supplied by Sacmi recently began operation and will produce more than 6 million sqm/year of large-size floor and wall tiles.
Gural Seramik, a leading Turkish sanitaryware and tableware manufacturer with decades of experience in the industry, has recently started up a plant for the production of glazed porcelain and monoporosa tiles.
The line, installed at the Kutahya production site in the eponymous region of Anatolian Turkey, has a capacity of more than 6 million sqm/year of glazed porcelain and monoporosa tiles, and stands out for its high level of automation and the use of cutting-edge technologies.
As the technological partner for the project, Sacmi supplied equipment for all the departments from body preparation (with the modular MMC138 and two ATM 90 mills) to the high-capacity Ekosort-Ekowrap sorting lines.
For the shaping department, Sacmi supplied two PH8200 presses for the production of 60x60 cm, 60x120 cm and 120x120 cm size floor tiles, and two PH 5000XXL presses for wall tile production. The plant is also equipped with two new 150-metre FMA295 kilns, which guarantee quality, efficiency and low levels of consumption, along with a BMR finishing line.
This is another important result for Sacmi in the strategic Turkish market, which has seen steady growth and significant investment on the part of leading local producers in recent years.
